Discuss why your nation is involved in WWI:
"We have many things we wish to achieve with this war, we don't deserve what we have been dished out. We will get revenge on Germany, and win our land back. We wish to control Morrocco and gain respect worldwide." - Jean-Pierre's Response

Write an article reacting to the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria:
"I think that many can agree that June 28, 1914, has changed the lives of many. The bombing and murders of the 28th led to the outbreak of the war I am fighting. From what I understand, the objective of the assassination was to break Austria-Hungary's south-Slav provinces off so they could be combined into a Greater Serbia or a Yugoslavia. Personally, I believe the assination was heartless. I have a family of three, whom I am responible to take care of. If it weren't for this assination- I wouldn't have been drafted. I could be home, with my wife and children." - Jean-Pierre's Response

Discuss the battle plan for your nation:
"General Ferdinand Foch and General Joseph Joffree devised a plan, we named 'Plan 17'. Our strategetic plan is to envade Germany by advancing to Lorraine and Ardennes. I have faith our plan will work, I'm hoping we don't run into any trouble on our way. Our weapons are heavy, we were issued with webbing and a rifle with bayonet. Some men were trained to use the machine-guns but the majority of us have to deal with our standard rifles." - Jean-Pierre's Response

Discuss its goal and the propaganda techniques it uses:
"These posters are all over, I almost get sick of seeing them. I see so many soldiers around, it makes me wonder why the want more. This poster is suggesting to enlist, only if I had been given the descision to enlist or not. They use techniques to presuade the veiwer to agree, the techniques they used in this one was emotional symbols (the flag) and patriotic appeals (like the word 'freedom'). The U.S. Marines have become allies with us. I guess I'm glad someone has our back." - Jean-Pierre Henri's response

Write an article discussing how Russia's exit and the USA's entry into the war affect your nation's chance of winning:
"Russia exiting the war, didn't really concern me. We still have the US and Britain on our side. I think we'll end in victory." - Jean-Pierre Henri's response

Nov. 4th 1917:
"It's cold here, I want to go home. I miss my family, my work, my pets. Things I really took advandtage of, I regret not appreciating it for what it really is. I pray to god, I make it out alive. Here, it's raining all the time, when we march it's a constant struggle to stay above ground. I'm miserable.
